One of the largest all female disability sporting events in the UK is happening in just three days time… don’t miss this incredible event.
This weekend 18 all-female teams from across the country will compete in the second weekend of British Wheelchair Basketball’s Women’s League 2016/17. Hosted at the Nottingham Wildcats Arena, there will be over 20 games taking place throughout the weekend on the arena’s three courts.
Games will take place across all three divisions on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 January, with matches tapping off on the Saturday at 10am and Sunday at 11am.
The first weekend took place in November, and was a showcase of incredible sporting action with stiff competition at the top of each division. Although it is still early in the season 2016/17 is promising to be the best yet, with more teams competing than ever before.
Wheelchair basketball is a fully inclusive sport with friends and families often competing in the same teams. Spectators will also have the opportunity to watch many of the GB women’s team play for their home clubs, bringing world class action to the basketball courts of Nottingham.
British Wheelchair Basketball’s Women’s League offers the perfect opportunity for anyone thinking of starting the New Year with a new sport to pop along and have-a-go. There is a dedicated drop-in ‘have-a-go’ session taking place on Saturday 21 January between 12pm and 1.30pm. The session is free and open to women of all abilities (10yrs +).
This free event will deliver a must witness experience for all the family.
