There was joy for Welsh skier Menna Fitzpatrick as she and guide Jen Kehoe added to their bronze with a silver in the super combined at the Jeongseon Alpine Centre.

The duo entered the slalom phase in second place following the super G run but couldn’t better alpine skiing favourite and reigning champion┬áSlovakian Henrieta Farkasova and put their medal success down to “having fun”.

Speaking to Channel 4, Fitzpatrick said, “I skied a lot faster and a lot more confidently than I did in the super G and the communication with Jen was perfect and we just had fun!”

After double silver in the opening events, Millie Knight and guide Brett Wild came fourth while 2014 super G gold medalist Kelly Gallagher and guide Gary Smith came seventh.

The alpine skiing programme continues tonight following the rescheduling due to weather forecasts. Watch the action live on Channel 4 from 00:30.
