Para Taekwondo athlete Amy Truesdale bagged a silver at the Para Taekwondo European Open Championship, but failed to strengthen her grasp on her title, losing out to familiar face Aynur Mammadova.
The Chester native joined the GB Taekwondo squad in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, entering the K44 +58kg para Taekwondo fray as defending champion, looking for redemption following shock defeats at the African Open and Asian Open Championships.
Truesdale began the one day event on a high, with a convincing 14-4 win over Nurcihan Ekinci of Turkey. But her hunt for a fifth title was thwarted by Mammadova, as the Azerbaijan athlete overpowered the Brit 9-2.
