Groups tackling social issues in Merton and Wandsworth are being encouraged to throw their hat in the ring for a share of £65000 from the Wimbledon Foundation.
The charity’s Get Set, Get Active Fund is helping active groups and clubs in the area improve the quality of life for members through grants between £500 and £2500 to cover sport and activity provision, welcoming applications until Friday 16 March.
Targeting disadvantaged areas and supporting people of all ages and abilities, the funding supports venue, equipment, coaching and kit expenditure.
Helen Parker, Wimbledon Foundation and community manager said: “We believe in the power of sport to improve people’s physical and mental well being and in bringing people together. Through our Get Set, Get Active Fund we want to support the fantastic work being done by local groups and clubs to help improve people’s lives in the communities of Merton and Wandsworth.”
